HadCRUT.5.0.2.0 (current version)

HadCRUT.5.0.2.0 supersedes HadCRUT.5.0.1.0. Previous versions can be found on the HadCRUT5 versions page. Data can be download from the HadCRUT.5.0.2.0 download page.

Data sources:

Land station temperature data are sourced from CRUTEM.5.0.2.0.
Gridded marine air temperature anomaly data are sourced from HadSST.4.0.1.0.

The following changes are included in HadCRUT.5.0.2.0:

Land data source updated to CRUTEM.5.0.2.0. This update includes no changes to CRUTEM5 processing from CRUTEM.5.0.1.0.
Fixed a bug that caused early record extratropical station exposure bias uncertainties to persist for at 0.1 deg C until abruptly dropping to zero in 1930 rather than linearly decreasing to zero from 1900 to 1930. This bug affected previous versions of HadCRUT5 but not CRUTEM5. The correction causes HadCRUT.5.0.2.0 to have slightly narrower uncertainty estimates over 1900 to 1930.
Updated the HadSST4 version used from HadSST.4.0.0.0 to HadSST.4.0.1.0. The random draws for ensemble member sampling are affected by this update for some SST uncertainty model components.
